About Us
Reflecting its origins, FERGBILT is based at the Archicafe in Bardon. The Archicafe was developed by architect Craig Ferguson in 1996 with the idea of bringing together sole practising architects to share facilities and develop their abilities in design through group critical analysis.
Since registering as an architect and builder in 1978, Craig Ferguson pursued a design / construct practise based around residential projects. The Archicafe provided a rich source of varied projects designed by some of Brisbaneʼs most dynamic architects. Four years later the open space at the rear of the renovated iconic Queensland shop was developed as a residence using traditional materials with the archicafe design philosophy.
After completing his carpentry apprenticeship and then a degree in Applied Science – Construction Management, Haemish Ferguson joined the team as site project manager.
